2 days old

The pups are thriving, and Juliette is providing lots of rich milk for her brood.   All the pups have gained 2 to 2 1/2 oz since birth and are getting increasingly more mobile.  Their umbilical cords have already dropped off.  Juliette has a hearty appetite, and I will be increasing her chow up to 6 c of food this weekend.  She was even relaxed enough to take some time away from the pups for cuddles, especially when Nancy came over to puppy sit.  This morning, Nancy reported that Juliette tried to dig a hole under the shed - not sure what she was thinking (the hole has been since filled with rocks).  Juliette tried a similar ploy last year and manged to get herself stuck under the shed before I came to her rescue.  Apparently she doesn't approve of the warm cozy puppy pool/den I have created for her.  Silly Golden girl.
