Juliette is a Golden retriever breeder for ICAN (Indiana Canine Assistant Network). Hopefully all these puppies will have the health and temperament to become assistance dog trainees in 8 weeks time.

2 weeks old
All the pups weigh at least two pounds, and most have their eyes completely open. A few of the yellow pups only had their eyes partially open this AM, which further supports that these pups were born a bit young. Usually eyes are open by 2 weeks. No sign of anyone "becoming fluffy", I believe all the pups are by Jammer. Most of the pups gained approximately 1 lb last week, although the girls are consistently outgaining the boys which is unusual. Probably due to the girls being bigger at birth and able to get prime spots at the milk bar. Maestro and Jazz are currently the two smaller pups weighing 2 lbs 4 oz, and the purple girls Aria and Harmony are the big pups weighing 2 lbs 11 oz. Juliette is doing great, attentive but not obsessive, taking some time away from the pups, tolerant of the other dogs, and totally nonconcerned if people are handling the pups. This litter has complained more about the BioSensor exercises than many other pups, but Juliette just casually looks on - we only have a couple more days left of BioSensor. I just bumped Juliette up to 9 cups of kibble, which she is eating heartedly. Her milk production continues to almost keep up, although I have typically been giving the pups 1 bottle of goat milk to top them off in the morning. I have started adding small stuffed animals to the pool as environmental enrichment. It is entertaining watching the pups try to problem solve if a stuffed animal is in their way.
